Dean Health System is a multi-specialty integrated healthcare delivery system based in Madison, Wis. DHS is the holding corporation which oversees the organizational entities that provide medical services, insurance products, and ancillary services to patients and other customers. Research studies are conducted at the Dean Foundation. The studies include alzheimer's research, hand arthritis, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), cholesterol, depression, epilepsy, generalized anxiety disorder, hepatitis C, migraine headache and parkinson's disease research. The Dean organization began in 1904 when Dr. Joseph Dean opened a small office in downtown Madison. As Dean prepares to celebrate 100 years of service, the organization has grown to include almost 500 physicians providing primary, specialty and tertiary care at 55 locations throughout southern Wisconsin.
