Descriptions Peace Place is a shelter that assists battered women and their children in rebuilding their lives, independently and free of abuse. Services are confidential and free. Peace Place opened in June 2000 and is certified by the Georgia Department of Human Resources and partially funded. The organization provides an emergency, short-term, 15-bed shelter and has housed more than 1,200 women and their children since opening. Peace Place offers individual counseling, support groups, community outreach, case management, children’s programs, life skills classes, legal advocacy and a 24-hour hotline. |
